Help Needed--Teething!!

I haven't posted for a few days, and hope things return to normal soon, but I have been quite busy with a very fussy, teething little boy! Henry is cutting 8 teeth all at once, including two painfull eyeteeth! I have tried several things to aleviate his pain, but to no avail. I've tried cold washcloths for chewing, a frozen teething ring and frozen grapes in a mesh feeder--none worked!

I am asking for input from my readers....what remedies have you used to help with teething? I would prefer natural, non-medicine remedies only, please, as we prefer not to use medications unless very necessary. (A bit of Tylenol, however, was very necessary after a night of tossing and turning and no sleep for mommy, daddy or baby!) Thanks for your help!

  1. My daughter was a terrible teether, too. I tried all the natural remedies, but finally couldn't stand it any longer and gave her tylenol. It was her her only relief. Her pain was terrible. I have no problem giving tylenol when kids are truly in pain. That's my .02! God Bless,

  2. My little one really likes biting an apple, I think it feels good on his gums. He doesn't swallow much of it, but likes to chew it all up and spit it out. He also likes the silicone pacifiers (soothie) to chew on. He's never really taken to one other than for chewing when he's teething.

    That's just what helps here!
Hope he feels better. We're getting in 4 right now, it's just rough!

  3. Thanks for the advice, ladies! I think I'm just going to offer him the Tylenol and get over my guilt! Seems to be the only thing that will work, and eight teeth at once IS an awful lot for the poor little guy to deal with! Cara, I tried the apple, and he ate it, but no relief! Good to know he is ready to eat apples, though:)

  4. Try Hylands teething tablets. It's a homeopathic remedy and works quite well!
